Summarizing the 2013 performance indicators, the Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (KNAB) concludes that more and more people are willing to engage in preventing and combating corruption thus participating in the work of the Bureau.
Comparing performance indicators in 2012 and 2013, there have been significant changes in the Bureau’s approach of communication with the society - the people more often choose to give or receive information and explanations over the Report Centre phone or free hotline 80002070. In 2012, 1,493 people chose to call, but in 2013 already 2,624 people decided in favor of this form of communication. Increase in the number of applications received from individuals was also observed as in 2012 in total 982 applications were received, while in 2013 – 1,033 applications. In 2013 the Bureau received and registered 6478 documents, which are 306 units more than in 2012. The Bureau considers the increase in applications and complaints as confirmation that public confidence in the Bureau has improved.
It should be noted that in 2013 the Bureau announced an open competition for the eight vacant positions. The unprecedented activity caused announced competition for the vacancies of senior specialists in the Division of Control of Activities of Public Officials as 65 applicants applied in total. This trend can be explained by the desire of the society to promote the rule of law in public administration, providing oversight and control of activities of public officials.
