The Public Consultative Council of the Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau was established to ensure the participation of members of the public in developing, implementing, and educating the public in anti-corruption policy. The Council’s role is to foster the Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau’s relationship with the public by making recommendations on relevant issues.
On 31 May, 2024, Mr. Aivars Borovkovs, a member of Latvian Association of Lawyers, was elected as the chair of the Public Consultative Council of the Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau. On the same day, Mr. Ingemārs Vekteris, a member of The Latvian Broadcasting Association, was elected as the vice-chair of the Public Consultative Council.
The Public Consultative Council was created in 2004, and consists of representatives of non-governmental organisations.
