The Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (KNAB), in cooperation with the anti-corruption authorities of Lithuania and Poland, invites everyone to tune into the side event of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly Special Session on Corruption – “Enhancing Public Integrity – Regional Perspective” on 2 June, from 20.00 to 21.00 Latvia Time. The event organized by Latvia is dedicated to the transnational exchange of experience on anti-corruption measures that promote the integrity of state and municipal institution.
The UN General Assembly Special Session on Corruption takes place from 2-4 June. During the session, from 1 June to 4 June, forty separate online events are planned, the goal of which is to ensure the exchange of international good practices on tools implemented to promote the integrity of public administration and reduce the risks of corruption.
In the side event organized by KNAB – “Enhancing Public Integrity – Regional Perspective”, the representative of KNAB, Diāna Kazina, shall acquaint the participants with the Latvian approach to reducing corruption risks in public administration – mandatory requirement for state and municipal institutions to develop and implement an internal anti-corruption control system. Representative of the Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Lithuania, Rūta Kaziliūnaitė, will talk about the concept of the implemented Integrity Academy and its initial results. Whereas the representative of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau of the Republic of Poland, Paweł Rutkowski, will talk about the anti-corruption e-training developed for officials.
Representative of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Tim Steele, will share institutional experience in promoting public integrity, whereas the event will be chaired by the Permanent Representative of Latvia to the United Nations, Andrejs Pildegovičs.
