The Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (KNAB) for the first time took part in the Museum Night. In cooperation with the Latvian War Museum it was arranged at the photo corner, where anyone could take a picture with a face mask like the KNAB agent.
Latvian War Museum held "Museum Night 2016". This years theme was Doors as an object and also as a metaphor. This years theme suggests to pay attention at different doors that are around the city, their design, many are cultural heritage, it is border. There are “doors” to the past and different communities. Streets of Riga get busy at Museum Night, people are curious and it is possible to see museums at different light.
Initial estimates are that this year the museum visited by about 14 000 visitors. Of these, nearly 400 people took the opportunity to take a picture as Bureau agent - put on a bulletproof vest and face mask, and made the "Bureau secret agent certificate”.
44 museums in Riga and more than 100 museums elsewhere in Latvia, or 150 museums in total, participated in the Night of Museums this year. This is the largest number of museums to participate in the event since the first Night of Museums was held in Latvia in 2005.
