The Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (KNAB) has sent a criminal proceeding materials to the Prosecutor’s Office of the Zemgale Suburb of the Riga City, asking to initiate a criminal prosecution against the official of the State Police of Latvia for the requesting a bribe in ammount of 300 EUR and accepting a part of it.
The gained evidence witnesses, that official of the State Police of Latvia requested a bribe and accepted a part of it from a natural person for noncommitting a checks relating to the fulfilling of the conditions of imposed sentence – police control.
The official of the State Police of Latvia requested a bribe and accepted a part of it using his official position and non-committing a lawful act in the interests of the giver of the bribe (3rd Part of the Section 320 of the Criminal Law).
KNAB states that no person is considered guilty until his guilt of a criminal offence is proved in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Law.
