The Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (KNAB) has sent a criminal proceeding materials to the Prosecutor’s Office of the Rezekne, asking to initiate a criminal prosecution against two state officials - inspectors of the Building Board of the Rezekne district, for taking bribes in amount of 2000 EUR, when it has been committed by a group of persons pursuant to prior agreement.
For one of these officials KNAB also is asking to initiate criminal prosecution for Forging Official Documents.
During the pre-trial investigation, KNAB found, that state officials took bribes for not fixing a violation, established in the building object.
KNAB states that no one person is considered as guilty until his guilt of a criminal offence is proved in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Law.
