Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (KNAB) sent to the Riga District Court Prosecutor's Office criminal case on the State Fire and Rescue Service of Latvia (VUGD) officials about alleged request and acceptance of the bribe.
The criminal case materials indicate that VUGD officer demanded and accepted a bribe from a public joint stock company employee in order to ensure that for detected violations of fire safety are not fixed in the official protocol.
KNAB states that no person is considered guilty until his guilt of a criminal offense is proved in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Law.
