The Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (KNAB) announces that as of 1 February 2019, Ineta Cīrule is appointed the Deputy Director in investigation procedure matters.
The professional knowledge and skills, as well as previous experience of Cīrule demonstrate her ability to fulfil the duties of the Deputy Director in investigation procedure matters. Cīrule started her professional carrier in 2000 as policewoman at Riga Regional Board of the State Police. Cīrule has worked for the KNAB since 2004. Initially, she was an investigator at the Investigation Department, later the Head of the Investigation Department or the Chief of the Criminal Procedure Investigation Board. Since 15 October 2018, Cīrule performed duties of the Deputy Director in investigation procedure matters of the KNAB.
Cīrule has Master’s degree in law.
Cīrule has very good strategic planning and team-leading skills, ability to take decisions and take responsibility, she is development-oriented and possesses other competences necessary to ensure successful investigatory work at the KNAB.
Deputy Director of the KNAB, Cīrule said: “I accepted this challenge because I believe that it is my duty to contribute to combating corruption using my professional experience obtained over the years. I am sure that we can resolve and investigate voluminous and complex corruption cases. I would like to use my knowledge and experience to strengthen the investigatory function of the KNAB, so that the work of the KNAB always complies with its slogan “Honour over power”.”
